About Steve Cuffe

Steve Cuffe, M.D is Professor and Chair of the University of Florida College of Medicine, Jacksonville Department of Psychiatry, and Founding Program Director of the General Psychiatry Residency Program.  

He has built a strong clinical department and the first ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Programs in Jacksonville.

He received his medical degree from Wake Forest University and completed general psychiatry residency and child psychiatry fellowship training at the University of California, San Francisco.

He served as principal/co-principal investigator on numerous federally funded projects and has published over 50 journal articles and book chapters.

Dr. Cuffe has received numerous awards for clinical excellence, research and teaching.

Dr. Cuffe is married to Babette Kissam and they have two adult children. They are expecting their first grandchild in October.

He and his wife are members of the St. Paul’s By the Sea Episcopal Church in Jacksonville Beach, and they sing in the choir together. Dr. Cuffe is a past member of the SPBTS Vestry and Foundation, and former member of the Beaches Fine Arts Series Board of Trustees.
