Cyndy Tomassetti, a self-professed “old theater kid” is delighted to be a part of the Beaches Fine Arts Dancing With the Stars. Cyndy is a Broker Associate with Engle & Völkers, wife of Alan and mom to Sean. Cyndy has called Jacksonville home since 2007. Cyndy would like to dedicate her performance to her parents’ memory, as they surely knew how to jump, jive, and wail.
Born in New Jersey, Cyndy’s devotion to the arts was cultivated by her parents who emersed her in theater, music, and art. At age seven, Cyndy and her family moved to the Florida Keys, making their home in Islamorada. Cyndy and her father became founding members of the Key Players, involved in every aspect, from acting, makeup, to set and program design. A member of the Purple Isles Art Guild, she exhibited her paintings through-out galleries in the Florida Keys.
Cyndy graduated from Rider University with a bachelor’s degree in communication and journalism and attended graduate school at Florida State University. While at university, she wrote for the Rider News, captained the College Bowl Team and was in several Rider Theater productions. Returning to Florida after graduation, she began a thirty-year career in broadcasting as on-air-talent for WXOS FM. Moving into media sales, she worked for television stations in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm, and eventually relocated to Jacksonville to work for First Coast News as their regional Sales Manager. Cyndy retired from media in 2017 to care for her mother. In 2018, Cyndy began an award-winning career in real estate, and is currently a broker associate with Engel & Völkers, First Coast.
Over the years, Cyndy has kept her hand in the arts, acting in regional theater, performing with Jacksonville Sings, Christmas at the Cabin, the Eucharistic Congress, the River City Choral Festival, and After 7, an ensemble at St. Paul’s in Jacksonville Beach. Cyndy is a former board member for the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus.
In her leisure, Cyndy can be found in her studio, painting, or out in nature, hiking, biking and kayaking. Cyndy and her husband Alan are avid nature photographers who enjoy traveling around the United States and enjoying its infinite beauty. .
