He has performed with Crescendo Amelia Big Band and is a founding member of a men’s vocal singing group, Off The Record Jax.  He also has the privilege to perform with the professional choir at St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Jacksonville.

Tayloe McDonald is a Jacksonville native, a visual artist, and the founder of ArtSparcs, a company that creates art-based products and services that provide enrichment and novelty to support brain health and the cultivation of mental agility. After she graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida, she worked in the nonprofit sector for more than 15 years before returning full time to work in neuroaesthetics, her first love. She lives in San Marco with her husband Zach, her son Sheldon, and a howling old dog named Fiona.

She shares, “One of my earliest memories is my first dance recital at age three. In the middle of the ballet performance (Red tulle. A cardinal perhaps?), I noticed the dancer next to me was arabesque-ing in the wrong direction. Always one to help, I paused to offer her instruction on proper technique. Though I I couldn’t see the faces of the audience through the spotlights, I could hear their laughter. Forty years later, I can promise you one of two things from my performance at First Coast Dancing with the Stars-either a great performance or a great belly laugh-or maybe both. In the meantime, I promise to work on perfecting only my own technique.”

Convincing Jeff to get out on the dance floor for First Coast Dancing with the Stars was like pulling teeth. And he should know. Jeff’s passion for dentistry began at an early age when he worked in a dental lab while in high school. After graduating from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry, Jeff joined the Air Force and began a General Dentistry Residency at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. He completed his service at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina and Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. In 2003, he joined his cousin, Dr. Sid Parker, in practice at their St Marys, Georgia location and opened an office in Jacksonville Beach in 2004. Over time, Jeff’s passion for dentistry has evolved into a passion for the overall health of his patients and their quality of life. He has witnessed the transformation of not only his patients’ smiles, but their lives as well. Parker and Pennington Dentistry has the vision of helping 50,000 people get healthier on the First Coast and through mission work in other countries including Jamaica. When he’s not restoring patients’ smiles, Jeff enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing (occasionally catching), cycling, and traveling.

“The times when music and musician and musical instrument combine to form an almost mystical union are rare. One such occasion came when Alexei Romanenko dazzled with his playing of Zoltan Kodaly’s Sonata for solo cello.”
                                  T.J. Medrek
                                  The Boston Herald

Winner of numerous prestigious awards in Russia and the U.S., Russian-born cellist Alexei Romanenko has concertized extensively as soloist with major symphony orchestras, in recital, and as a chamber musician.  Alexei began playing cello at age six and won his first competition at twelve.  Having studied with Valentin Feygin at Moscow Conservatory, he completed his studies with Bernard Greenhouse as well as Lawrence Lesser at New England Conservatory of Music where he earned his Artist Diploma.  His repertoire includes most major works for cello, as well as many cadenzas he composed for cello concerti and compositions for unaccompanied cello.  A superb and indefatigable performer, he has presented all six Bach Suites for Unaccompanied Cello in recital many times. Alexei is a principal cellist of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.

Ever eager for challenge and adventure, Alexei taught himself to play organ and has served as church organist in various churches in the Jacksonville area during the past decade.  He has an uncanny ability to find the lowest air, hotel, and car rental fares at the last minute, jetting across the U.S. and beyond both for cello-related business and exploring the wonders of nature.

Not least of his many talents, Alexei claims that of a “dog whisperer.” He often establishes an instant rapport with members of the canine species. His dog Brunhilda can be found at his side as he practices, on road trips, and … just because.
